FORMER colleagues of a beat bobby who died aged just 34 gathered to pay their respects at his funeral in Kidderminster.
PC Christopher Greaves, who patrolled Comberton and Offmore, was given an official police funeral at the town's St Mary and All Saints Church on Wednesday last week.
He died from leukaemia last month, soon after his marriage to Andrea. The couple had brought forward their wedding from September due to PC Greaves's illness.
Mrs Greaves appreciated the turn-out for her husband's funeral, saying: "It was overflowing in the church."
She added: "There were more people there than I expected. The police did him proud, they really did."
Police officers acted as pall bearers.
The funeral service was followed by cremation at Stourbridge.
