CONCERNED Lower Moor and Wyre Piddle parents will be attending a meeting next week to fight Worcestershire County Council's decision to cut a free bus service.
Officers made the decision last month to cut the service provided for Pershore High School, Pinvin Middle School and Fladbury First School pupils.
Parents will attend a meeting at county hall next Wednesday at 6.30pm in a bid to overturn the decision.
Mother Jackie Emsley whose son Richard, aged 14, attends Pershore High School, is furious with the removal of the service and believes letting her son walk the busy A44 road is putting his life at risk.
Mrs Emsley, of Lower Moor, said: "They expect children to walk on a road that has no pavements, but safety officers have told me that is not a safety concern while vehicles travel on the A44 at 60mph.
"I have walked the route myself and I don't consider it safe, let alone thinking about letting my son walk the route - they need to assess the route again before considering it safe.
"Council officers have been inconsistent in their response and they do not appear to be following their own official guidelines with regard to the safety of their suggested routes."
A petition has been signed by concerned parents who want the roads to the schools assessed.
Last week the Journal reported on concerned mother-of-three, Anna Lees, from Wyre Piddle, who feared for her daughter's safety when she starts Pinvin Middle School in September.
Worcestershire County Councillor Liz Eyre called the meeting following concerns from Vale parents.
