STUDENTS of a Kidderminster school had the chance to sample a day in the life of an MP when they took a trip to London.
Three King Charles I School pupils - all Worcestershire members of the Youth Parliament - and teacher, Martin White, visited the House of Commons and attended a Health Select Committee meeting.
The visit was arranged following an invitation by Wyre Forest MP, Dr Richard Taylor, in recognition of the work members of the Youth Parliament does to provide a voice for young people. The aim was also to provide pupils, Paul Ingenthron, Gareth Griffiths and Philip Powell, with the chance to experience what it would be like to attend a meeting as an MP.
Paul said: "We attended a meeting with him in a conference room that concerned the health committee.
"From the trip, we gained an idea of what it would be like to have to attend regular meetings there. It also taught us how the system worked."
