A DONKEY that has overindulged urgently needs exercise to get back into proper shape.

The donkey, named Hosanna, is at the animal sanctuary run by Janet Taylor in School Lane, Middle Littleton, and she is looking for someone to take the donkey for walks round the village lanes to get rid of some of the fat.

Mrs Taylor said: "Hosanna came from Bulgaria and we got her through one of our elderly supporters who sent us some money to sponsor her. We thought she might be in foal and gave her special treatment but now she is so fat and we just can't get the weight off her."

She explained: "She was formerly a little working donkey and since she has been here living a life of luxury she has just piled on the pounds and what we would like is for someone to walk her on a regular basis to try and get rid of the extra weight."
