A WOMAN'S shoulder bag containing keys, a small amount of cash, medication and personal papers was snatched on Lime Street in Evesham at around 5pm on Thursday (July 6).
The woman had walked from Kings Road along the alleyway which leads to Lime Street. She was about to cross Lime Street when she was approached from behind by man who grabbed her bag.
The woman had the bag over her shoulder with the strap across her body but it was snatched with such force that the strap was ripped apart.
The assailant then made off on foot back along the alleyway towards Kings Road, where he was seen getting into a light-blue metallic-coloured four-door saloon.
The car drove off up Kings Road, away from the Kings Road, Elm Road, Port Street roundabout.
The robber is described as being about 5ft 6ins tall, black and wearing black trousers and a dark-blue anorak. An ambulance was called out to the woman, who was very shaken but not seriously hurt.
Evesham police are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 08457 444888.
