Wombourne 228 all out Ombersley 165 all out
Ombersley lost by 63 runs
OMBERSLEY were no match for promotion chasing Wombourne in the Birmingham and District League Division Three on Saturday.
Despite a battling display with the willow by Matt D'Oliveira, Ombersley lacked the firepower to really trouble a side still vying for the second promotion spot.
Defeat means newly promoted Ombersley have slipped to second from bottom in the table.
On Saturday strong bowling by Duncan Catterall (3-52) and Dominic D'Oliveira (2-41) could not restrain Wombourne's batting order, which notched up 228 all out by the 52nd over.
Priest was Wombourne's highest scorer with the bat - hitting a half century.
However, Ombersley were unable to build an effective reply, despite Matt D'Oliveira's 63, and were dismissed for 165.
Ombersley will be hoping to grab all the points and make sure they have a chance of escaping the bottom two this Saturday, when the team takes on Coleshill at home (1pm start).
Coleshill are in mid-table but a win for Ombersley could see the two sides swap places.
