STAR striker Dean Sturridge has urged Harriers supporters not to expect too much of him and his team-mates during pre-season.
The former Derby and Wolves star is gradually getting back to fitness following a six-month absence from competitive football.
"I always see pre-season as a way of getting your fitness and that's the main thing about it," said Sturridge, who will make his home debut against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
"You don't win any trophies in friendlies and people don't remember the goals you score in friendlies so it's just about going out and getting matches under your belt.
"Hopefully the games we're playing will give the lads chance to get to know each other's games a bit more and prepare us for the season, which is when the hard work really starts."
