WITH school holidays almost here, there will be plenty to occupy toddlers to teenagers with time on their hands in Wyre Forest District's biggest programme of summer activities.
Starting on Monday, July 24 and running through until Saturday, September 2, is the council's Summer Activity schedule.
There are daily sessions and short courses, as well as day trips to stave off boredom in youngsters and provide some much needed relief for parents.
Ten to 14-year-olds can sign up for the SAS - in this case the Summer Action Squad. Over the six weeks, highlights include learning survival skills, play in a day drama workshop, ice skating and 10 pin bowling and laser shootout.
A variety of local venues will host the events, including Brinton Park, for a series of sports in the park sessions, Wyre Forest Glades, for waterworld and Habberley Valley, which offers an obstacle course.
Kids Klub, for five to 10 year olds, takes place at sites such as Stourport Civic Centre, Bewdley Leisure Centre and Kidderminster Carolians Rugby Club.
Nathan Desmond, the council's cabinet member for community and leisure services, said: "This year is our most adventurous yet, with a huge range of activities on offer."
The free 16-page colour Summer Activity brochure, with the full programme of events, including booking form and details of costs, where appropriate, is available on 01562 732984.
