KIDDERMINSTER racing driver Nathan Freke is targeting victory in rounds five and six of the UK Formula Ford this weekend as he bids to seize control of the championship.
Freke is lying second with 106 points, 19 behind Peter Dempsey with the 22-year-old's first win eluding him despite a growing reputation on the motorsport scene.
"We really need to start winning at this meeting if we are to close the gap on the championship leader," said Freke, who drives a Mygale/Ford Duratec car sponsored by Newnet.
"I have been the quickest in open testing at Snetterton in recent weeks and I am confident that we can get the job done this time out."
Freke goes into the weekend high in confidence with a ringing endorsement from Autosport Magazine which has featured him in their One to Watch section.
It stated that Freke has the ability to go to the top in motorsport and is the driver most likely to challenge the current championship leader for the title.
