WYRE Forest Canoe Club are holding an open evening for potential new members next week after splashing the cash on new equipment.
The club, which was set up in 1992, has received a grant of £4,870 from the lottery's Sport For All programme.
Chairman Eric Buchan said the money had been spent on canoe coaching, eight kayaks and a Canadian open canoe.
He said the open evening from 6.30pm on Friday, July 21, included a barbecue, refreshments and canoeing demonstrations.
"We've had funding towards some new equipment and we're holding an event so that people interested in canoeing can see what we're all about."
The club is based in the grounds of Bewdley High School. For more information phone 07801 478365 or visit www.wyreforestcanoe club.co.uk
