MANAGER Rod Brown slammed referee Mr Links for allowing Leighton's leveller in Bromsgrove Rovers' final match in the Southern League Division One West.
The official allowed a late equaliser for Leighton, despite a foul by James McNulty on goalkeeper Tim Clarke.
Brown said: "It was a scandalous decision by the referee. There was no way that was not a foul. It's a shame because it puts a dampener on the end of our season.
"But that's the season over with. It's not being a good one and we should do our best to put it to the back of our minds"
The manager also lamented poor defending by Rovers in last week's 2-1 defeat to Hitchin Town in the Errea Southern League Cup Final second leg.
He said: "We had the lion's share of the play but got caught out by two moments of sloppy defending."
The Rovers boss also explained his use of lanky defender Exodus Geohaghan up front against Hitchin instead of strikers Paul Moore and Luke Reynolds.
He said: "I thought we needed a big man up front and Luke hadn't been playing well and that Paul wasn't right for the job."
Former captain Steve Hillman has left the club after falling out with Brown. Hillman decided to leave after an argument during the 2-1 win over Stourport Swifts.
