WYTHALL'S A team drew 2-2 at home to Blossomfield in Division Six of the Birmingham League.
And after their 4-0 whitewash at the hands of the Police the previous week, it was vital to avoid a second defeat to stay in the top half of the table.
Teenagers Jake Smith and Matt Fellows opened the match with a 6-3, 6-1 win but the scores were levelled when Dave Taylor and James Fox were beaten 4-6, 4-6.
The reverse rubbers saw Smith and Fellows restore Wythall's advantage with a 6-3. 6-1 win but Blossomfield fought back again and clinched the deciding match 3-6, 7-6, 6-1.
