THINGS are getting curiouser and curiouser at the Palace Theatre with the arrival of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass.
The Palace Youth Theatre will stage the production of the much-loved children's stories from tomorrow until Saturday.
In this modern version, originally commissioned by the RSC, Alice's adventures are brought to life in fast-paced scenes by a huge cast of 57 youngsters aged eight to 17.
This is the first youth theatre show to be staged at the newly refurbished Palace and features more than 200 characters, 300 costumes, song, physical theatre and movement and puppetry -- the largest puppet stands more than 3m high and is 4m wide.
A gothic, Tim Burton-style set with huge gnarled trees that overwhelm the stage brings the production to life.
And to make things even more exciting, guests are invited to come dressed as their favourite character for a chance to win a family ticket to the pantomime.
Tickets for the show, which is guaranteed to appeal to all ages, are priced £5.50 (concessions £4.50 and a family ticket at £14).
To book, call the box office on 65203.
