BROMSGROVE RFC director of coaching Dean Ball admitted that his side's disastrous start to the season had made him think about quitting.
After losing six league games in a row the Boars are rock bottom of the Midlands Division One.
Ball contemplated leaving his position at the club after last week's defeat to Walsall.
He said: "Results weren't going our way and I did think about leaving the club.
"But this is my club and I didn't want to leave it in this situation.
"It hurts me that we are in this position, but I still believe we can get ourselves out of trouble."
Ball has laid down the gauntlet to his beleaguered troops to win seven games from the remaining 16 left.
He said: "We need to finish outside of the bottom three to survive this season.
"Normally I would have said 18 points would be our target, but it's so tight it's more like 14.
"It means we have to win seven games to survive, but we have done it before and I hope we can do it again."
At the time of the Advertiser/Messenger going to press Bromsgrove have yet to arrange a match for Saturday.
