WITH other results going against them, Malvern RFC were left in next to bottom spot in the league table following their last gasp 8-7 defeat at Stafford.
Director of rugby David Robins said: "We threw it away, and although you can lay some blame at the referee's door, the fact remains that we wasted at least three other clear-cut scoring chances.
"We played them off the park for the first half with the best display of controlled rugby we have put together all season, but let our discipline slip when they started to rough things up.
"In a relegation dogfight we cannot afford this, we have to ruthlessly destroy other sides by putting points on the scoreboard, which is all that matters. We now face a difficult run-in, needing a minimum of four wins out of the last eight games.
"Newbold at home this week will be no pushover, so we are looking to a performance to match last Saturday's first half - over the full 80 minutes."
