QUINTIN Watt MA gave an entertaining talk on the Bromsgrove Guild of Applied Arts, which was founded in 1898 by a group of craftsmen and women inspired by the Arts and Crafts Movement.
Guild historian Mr Watt explained how the firm developed into a thriving commercial enterprise, acquiring an international reputation for fine craftsmanship.
He went onto reveal that the gates of Buckingham Palace are the creation of the guild.
The next meeting is an evening visit to Feckenham.
Members of Feckenham Forest History Society are the hosts and will kindly provide a guided tour of their beautiful village.
The event promises to be an ideal evening to experience and enjoy local history.
Meet at Feckenham Village Hall, High Street, at 7pm on Wednesday, July 12. In the event of wet weather, still come as there will be an illustrated talk instead at 7pm in the village hall.
