ON Tuesday, June 6, the Merry Wives had a talk by Graham Sutherland on Wicked Women of the Past.
The talk was very interesting as Graham told stories of cruelty and violence these women bestowed upon children and of women who poisoned their husbands with arsenic.
The poison was very easy to obtain in the early 19th century.
The Merry Wives held a tombola stall at the street market in Alcester to help raise money for the High Baliff's Fund.
The raffle was not won by anyone this week.
