May I record the thanks of the Malvern Cancer Support Group to all who have given their time, encouragement and practical help to the successes of the group over the past 21 years.
Our decision to discontinue the group is in some ways indicative of its success in drawing attention to the needs of cancer patients and their families.
Nowadays there is much greater awareness, much better information for patients, and many agencies within the NHS supporting patients and their families. Many of these developments have been prompted by organisations like the MCSG. Thus our regret at the need for the group to cease is balanced by satisfaction that most of its purposes are now met elsewhere. We are especially grateful to former chairpersons, secretaries and treasurers for their contributions and most particularly to the financial support amply and regularly given by "Willies Angels" skittles team.
