HEALTH services in South Worcestershire have suffered a £13 million budget cut for 2006-7.

The Primary Care Trust said yesterday (Thursday) that there would be a "significant reduction" in managerial and administrative jobs.

"We will need to re-profile services so that we can give priority to the patients most in need," said chief executive David Barlow.

All primary care trusts across the whole of the NHS have had their budgets sliced by the Government.

Spokesman Janet Ferguson said it was too early to tell if jobs in Malvern would be affected.

But she said the new Malvern hospital was still on track and will be discussed at a meeting on Wednesday (May 3).
