ON Easter Monday, Rangers travelled to Darlaston to play Parkfield and, with numerous players unavailable, gave a determined West Midlands division one performance.

PARKFIELD LEISURE 4, MALVERN RANGERS 1

They were punished for making mistakes and were also on the receiving end again of some dubious decisions.

On an awful pitch, keeper Ross Sanders, who was suffering with a groin strain, made a great save in the 24th minute from Daran Kimberley, before six minutes later Steve Davies had a goal disallowed for being offside.

However, just four minutes later, Michael Brown did score for Parkfield, with visiting players calling for offside.

Within five minutes of the second half and it was 2-0 when Adam Spencer failed to clear the danger, and Daran Kimberley comfortably scored.

Ten minutes later and Ross Sanders made another good save before after 23 minutes, Simon Rea lost possession in midfield and Steve Davies went on to score.

Sam Black had a decent effort at goal before Ross Sanders made another good save on 39 minutes.

Rangers reduced the arrears after 42 minutes, with a very well-taken goal from Sam Black. Simon Burge's throw into the penalty area saw Black cut in from the by-line, beating a number of opponents before scoring into the far corner.

However, just one minute later, winger Michael Brown finished well to complete the scoring.

Tomorrow (Saturday), Rangers, sponsored by the Cross Keys Inn, play their final home fixture when they entertain Parkfield Leisure in the return fixture. Kick-off is at 2.45pm.
