THE reigning Kidderminster Carnival queen enjoyed her final official engagement at the weekend with a visit to Husum in Germany for the annual Crocus Festival.
Sixteen-year-old Rebecca Adderley will hand over her crown on Sunday, when a panel of judges choose her successor at the town hall.
It is the third year the carnival queen has been invited to Kidderminster's twin town for its Crocus Festival and it is hoped the 2006 queen will be able to visit next March.
Rebecca was accompanied on her trip to Husum by her mum, Ann and carnival chairman, Colin Hill.
They teamed up with a civic delegation and a party from Kidderminster's King Charles I High School.
The German Crocus Queen has been invited to join in the fun at Kidderminster Carnival, which will be held at Brinton Park on Saturday, June 24.
Entrants for Sunday's queen contest must be aged 14 to 18 and the winner will receive £75 and a dress for the carnival day.
Competitions will also be held to find this year's princess, aged 10 to 13 and two rosebuds, aged from six to nine, who will receive cash prizes of £30 and £10 respectively, as well as carnival dresses.
All entrants must go to school or college in Kidderminster.
