A CHADDESLEY Corbett couple are inviting visitors into their acclaimed garden to add to the £20,000 they have already raised for good causes.
Olive and David Mason are throwing open their doors to the public on Sunday to help boost the coffers of the National Garden Scheme - NGS.
It is the 10th year their Dial Park garden, which featured on BBC2's Gardeners World, has helped the initiative.
The charity has raised more than £20 million since it was established in 1927 and donates to organisations including Marie Curie Cancer Research and Help the Hospices.
Seasonal flowers, including hyacinths, crocuses and daffodils, will add a splash of colour as spring makes its belated appearance.
Mrs Mason, who takes on the majority of tasks involved with making the garden bloom, said this was "the best time of the year".
The 72-year-old added: "I keep something of interest all year round. I do not let it go and continually keep on top of things.
"If it is left for two or three weeks it can get difficult because there is so much to do.
"It has been a long winter and I think it has affected everyone. We have still got some snowdrops in the garden and they are normally well past their best. We are keeping our fingers crossed for the sun."
Other Wyre Forest horticulturists will be taking part in the NGS over the coming months. For more details, visit www.ngs.org.uk or call 01483 211535.
