CHRIS Woodhouse won the opening round of the Monoposto 1200 championship at Silverstone at the weekend, driving a Speads Single Seater, having qualified on pole position in wet conditions.
The track started to dry up but as the cars lined up on the grid it started to rain, causing a problem because all the cars had a dry set up.
The Kidderminster driver began smoothly and by the start of the second lap already had a seven second lead.
He also claimed the fastest lap of the race, 3.5 seconds quicker than any other car in the race.
By the end he had a 37-second lead.
Woodhouse said: "It was a dream way to start the season".
He expressed his thanks to everyone who had helped prepare the car over the winter.
