Evesham Utd Ladies 2,
Burlish Olympic 5
EVESHAM were forced to field a weakened side due to injuries and unavailability but Sunday's hosts put up a good performance in the Kidderminster Hospital Cup semi-final.
After thwarting a couple of early attempts on goal, the visitors took the lead in the fourth minute.
The United strikers were having little joy against a well-organised defence and it took until the 24th minute to create their best chance when Amy Summers latched on to a loose ball only to shoot narrowly wide.
Burlish wasted two chances and hit a post before they increased their lead. A lack of communication then gifted the visitors a third a minute before the break when Lisa Tustin's last-ditch attempted clearance found the net off the inside off a post.
The second half started with a bang as United were awarded a penalty. Substitute Char-lene McLoughlin's kick was initially saved but she followed up to slam the ball high into the roof of the net.
Five minutes later the visitors were awarded a penalty of their own and Mandy Upton was helpless to prevent Olym-pic restore their three-goal advantage.
United were still prepared to have a go at the visitors and a fine move started by Lisa Tustin saw Sam Perry's cross to the far post nodded home by Summers. Upton was forced into a couple of fine saves before a third penalty saw Burlish complete the scoring .
To add to Evesham's injury worries, leading scorer Perry was stretchered off two minutes from time with what was later diagnosed as broken ribs.
The Common Roaders are on cup duty again this weekend when they visit Worcester City Reserves in the semi-final of the League Cup (2pm).
