ALVECHURCH manager Shaun Cunnington has praised leading scorer Keith Rostill after the striker bagged his 150th goal in his 250th game for the club.
His second half strike - a skilful effort from just inside the area - gave the Lye Meadow side a 1-0 victory over visitors Tipton Town and lifted the spirits of the Church boss.
"It is a tremendous scoring rate," said Cunnington, "There are not many players who associate themselves with a club for that length of time at this level of football."
The manager was left frustrated last week by a last-gasp defeat at home to title-chasing Chasetown but stayed positive after a battling performance.
"We more than matched Chasetown on the night and I think we paid the price for giving away a silly free-kick on the edge of the area with five minutes to go."
But it all came right in a sodden game on Saturday and Cunnington is now hoping his team can build on that victory.
They were due to host Oldbury United last night before heading to mid-table Barwell on Saturday.
