FECKENHAM manager Lee Adams is hoping for the perfect send-off as he heads for holiday next week - two days after the Millers' Challenge Cup semi-final second leg at The Valley.
Adams is hoping his charges can book a cup final against champions-elect Atherstone. That means they will be playing for their places in the league games he will miss - at Brocton next Wednesday (ko 7.45pm) and then against Cadbury Athletic and Shifnal Town.
"If we can get a result on Saturday I will be happier going away because it keeps the season alive," said the Millers manager.
The Valley Stadium tenants continued to close in on the top three with a 3-1 win at Alveston on Saturday.
Despite falling behind to an early penalty, goals from Steve Fergusson, Scott Walsh and Stuart Douglas sealed victory.
The Millers are set to visit Coventry Copsewood tonight (ko 7.45pm) and, despite knowing victory would hoist them to fourth, Adams is insistent he will rest players with Saturday's cup clash at home to Pershore (ko 2.45pm) in mind.
With the Pershore game finely balanced at 1-1 the manager intends to start with Ross Knight and Stuart Douglas on the bench and although Justin Dankenbring will start, he will not play a full 90 minutes.
Adams is already without the unavailable Chris Wilkie and Aaron Bennett and has ruled out veteran marksman Fergusson, who picked up a calf strain on Saturday.
After giving third choice keeper Nigel Watson - at 49, for once meaning Fergusson was not the oldest player on the teamsheet - his first match of the season, Adams will keep faith with the former Bromsgrove Rovers custodian, with a view to restoring first choice Dave Gorton for the cup clash.
The cup-tied Walsh and Richard and Andy Biddle are set to play tonight.
Assistant manager Neil Randle and Glenn Adams, manager of Feckenham's reserves, will take charge of the side for next week's trip to Brocton, a match which could see the Millers climb to third with a victory.
