LOCAL group the Arrow Vale Singers will join a premier brass band for a concert at Bromsgrove's Artrix next Saturday.

The joint concert with the Langley brass band is part of 30th anniversary celebrations by the Arrow Vale Singers and is guaranteed to impress.

The Midlands-based Langley Band was formed in the 1870s and won the National Brass Band Finals in London in 1952, gaining promotion into the Champion-ship section.

Langley Band has played at venues the length and breadth of the country, giving indoor and outdoor performances in the Black Country and West Midlands.

The band has performed overseas in Frankfurt, Germany and Noordevijk in Belgium and was recently invited to perform in Prague, Hungary, Canada and the USA.

This year sees the Langley Band return to the Championship section, competing against some of the world's greatest and most famous bands such as Black Dyke, Fodens and Brighouse & Rastrick.

Arrow Vale Singers perform regularly in and around Bromsgrove and Redditch and their joint concert is part of the group's birthday celebrations.

The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets, priced £7.50, are available from the box office on 577330.
