DUMBLETON retained the WCB (Evesham) Indoor League title when they overcame Ashton by eight runs last week.
The new champions will now face the winners of the Worcester League at Prince Henry's High School in the first semi-final on Monday, April 24 to determine the overall winners and who will represent Worcestershire in the ECB finals.
Runs down the order helped Dumb-leton amass 122-3 against Ashton who made a storming reply as Richard Coo-per and Tom Archer rattled up 53 off the opening four overs.
However, both departed within the space of three balls and, when stumper Powell took a fine catch to remove David Hudson-Wood, the chasers were on the back foot at 60-3.
Turner and Haines set about repairing the damage but the latter was left to battle on single-handedly with 40 still needed off 26 balls.
The task proved too much and Boorman had him caught behind off the final as the innings closed on 114.
The night's other game saw Elmley Castle amass a daunting 140-4 against St Benedict's who were never in the hunt and closed on 99-3.
PLAYERS from Ashton-under-Hill CC are urged to attend a meeting at the pavilion tomorrow night from 8pm.
For the purposes of obtaining Clubmark status, all playing members over the age of 18 are required to sign a self-declaration form. Any one failing to sign this form will not be available for selection for the new season.
The meeting will also cover bar duties, Clubmark and the Cricket Force event during the weekend of April 8 and 9.
