IT is always pleasing to receive praise as we did in last week's letter from Country Jogger who appreciated the good work done to the towpath at Salwarpe.
Sadly though Droitwich Canals Trust (DCT) cannot really claim the credit for this improvement.
It was carried out by contractors under supervision of the Droitwich Canals Restoration Partnership of which DCT is a partner.
The towpath below Salwarpe church is however due for further widening works by DCT volunteers over the Easter Bank Holiday. Should anybody like to help out they would be most welcome. We can be found at 1 Hampton Road (telephone 0780 8621833).
The trust volunteers have been in action for the last three months preparing the approaches to Hawford A449 tunnel from scrub and trees. This reduces the amount of work needed by civil engineers keeping costs to a minimum.
A little more patience Country Jogger, the boats are coming!
