BUDDING business moguls got top marks for their entrepreneurial skills when they put them to the test in the name of charity.
Youngsters from Whitford Hall and Dodderhill School were given £5 each in the St Richard's Hospice flourishing fivers initiative. The Spa pupils were then asked to at least double the money using their own business skills. A cake sale at Bromsgrove Golf Club, bag packing at Waitrose supermarket, a silent auction and making and selling greeting cards were among the money-raising schemes adopted by the pupils.
Deputy head Angela Clancy said she was very pleased with the result.
"The girls have been very creative in their thinking on ways of developing business and entrepreneurial skills, as well as helping pupils realise how they can make a difference to other people's lives with such fundraising ideas."
Alison Weston, the community fundraiser for Worcester-based St Richard's, added: "We are very grateful to the school for getting involved and making it such a success."
