TOWNSFOLK are being encouraged to take up the offer of free blood pressure tests.
A group of volunteers will be available at three locations in Droitwich Spa this Saturday.
The health event is being organised in association with The Stroke Association and members of the town's rotary club.
Shoppers and visitors will be able to have a free blood pressure check at Droitwich Library, in Victoria Square, the town's Morrisons store and in the High Street between 10am and 3pm.
Maureen Cobb, who is a member of the rotary club and used to work for the Stroke Association, said: "It is vital that people check their blood pressure and keep it under control. We call it the silent killer because no one knows they have a problem.
"High blood pressure can lead to other medical problems and we urge people to take up the free service on Saturday."
