FOR Blur fans the ex-guitarist's sixth solo album will be a return to an old friend.
With familiar rocking tunes and guitar struts, Graham Coxon has created a comfortable album that is just typically Blur - and typically good.
Unsurprisingly this album is about love and relationships and he puts together a number of songs that seem to fit well in the order they are in - it even gets better towards the end, which is unusual.
If there is one slight criticism it is that it does sound slightly too much like every other Blur and Coxon track - but this is much of the appeal.
The opening track Standing On My Own Again is good, along with You Always Let me Down and See a Better Day.
Each is very much set in the indie genre with a fair bit of punk thrown in for good measure.
I have only heard one other of Coxon's singles before this album which was Freakin Out, and I must admit I liked that and I do like this, even though I do keep on waiting for that song to kick in on almost every track.
But in all a sound album and a must for indie lovers.
