recycling in Redditch is now even easier, thanks to the launch of a new scheme.
The purple banks at Headless Cross, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Tesco have now been replaced with new green ones, as well as an extra site at B&Q in Smallwood.
Under the new scheme launched last Tuesday, residents can now recycle plastic bottles without having to sort them into plastic types.
Instead, all fizzy drink, milk, water and shampoo bottles can go into the banks together to make recycling easier.
Redditch Council's waste disposal officer Ceridwen John said: "We hope even more residents recycle more of their plastic waste. "Every bottle recycled means less waste sitting in landfill for the next few hundred years.
"So it's definitely worth saving your bottles and taking them to be recycled next time you are doing your shopping."
Residents are asked to rinse, squash and replace bottle lids to keep them squashed as reducing their volume helps save space.
The bottle tops will also be recycled.
