listen to people
SIR - What are our councillors thinking about? It beats me. City council leader Coun Stephen Inman has been quoted as saying: " I know some people object to things like this, but keeping it as green land isn't really the ideal thing to do".
As I suspected, the council does 'things' - nothing positive just things. To state that green land is not an ideal thing to have, does he propose that all green land in Worcester be developed or was he "misquoted?" I think not.
Remember councillor, that when you were in opposition, your party opposed any development on this land. What a change in thought.
He says we need this land to create new jobs - 3000 of them? This will save commuting. So 3,000 people from the west side are going to work there and walk or cycle to work. Then why an 1,800 car parking area. That would mean an extra 5,000 to 6,000 cars on the A44 and the bypass at peak hours try to get to work and home.
I hope they have plenty of time to wait in the queue. Come on council, wake up and listen to people power. They can vote you in or vote you out.
JOHN KNOWLES,
Worcester
