SIR - I would like to offer a response to the comments made in the Worcester News (Tuesday, March 20).
I am a member of the skirmishing group whose actions have been commented on in the recent editions of the Worcester News, I would like to express my concern at the obviously blinkered comments raised in the paper.
I would like to clarify that the majority of our members are under 18 and all of us (even the adults), benefit from the skills learnt from 'airsofting' at the weekend. Skills such as teamwork, discipline and responsibility are instilled in all that attend, with these skills becoming extremely valuable outside of the 'game' in real life.
None of us condones inconveniencing or upsetting anyone who may come across us during our games - in fact we work to minimise the impact we make both to the site we play on, as well as the public with whom we come in contact.
Would the very few people who have a problem with us getting children doing something constructive, rather we left them to their own devices learning to hone their graffiti skills?
IAN BALFOUR,
Arboretum,
Worcester.
