TWO Bromsgrove sisters have been selected to represent Northern Ireland after being called up to the senior netball squad.
Amie and Laura O'Meara, who play for Ryland Centre, will train with the Northern Ireland squad.
The duo will also take part in the training squads twice a month and help the team in the build up to the World Cup qualifiers in June.
Amie and Laura were selected for national honours after impressing in trials at the start of March. They were recommended for the trials by Ryland Centre coach Sheila Perks.
Amie, 21, is in attack, while 19-year-old Laura plays in defence.
Amie said: "It's a great honour to be selected for the squad."
The sisters are daughters of Bromsgrove Rovers legend and all time record appearance holder Shaun O'Meara.
Amie and Laura were part of the Ryland team that won the Versatility Tournament in memory of Alison Clark.
In a special match where players were put in the wrong position Ryland ran out winners over Redditch Netball at Arrow Vale High School, who Clark played for before passing away.
Amie, who was captain said: "Ryland enjoyed the tournament and would like to thank Redditch for the invitation. The team performed well and it was a real team effort."
