MALVERN Town's 100 per cent Harvey World Travel Midland Alliance home record was smashed on Saturday when Tipton Town secured a 2-0 victory at Langland Stadium.
MALVERN TOWN 0, TIPTON TOWN 2
Malvern, without the Tomkins brothers, Jukes and central defender Jones, started brightly using both flanks and created some good openings.
They should have taken the lead when Duncan Preedy released Mark Shepherd through on goal but his shot went agonisingly wide.
Malvern then seemed to lose their way when an injury to Andy Chalmers in the 13th minute seemed to affect the whole team and Tipton soon struck twice in a few minutes.
Leading scorer Scott Voice rose to head home when given a free header and then had another free header from their next attack. Although Craig Humphries saved brilliantly, Voice was first to react and fired home.
The best Malvern could offer was a Phil Preedy shot that whistled past the post and a Darren Bullock header, well-saved by Cox.
In between, Craig Williams came to Malvern's rescue twice clearing off the line.
Malvern had the lion's share of the play in the second-half but failed to create any clear cut chances. Roberts replaced Clayton hoping to give Malvern more firepower but this failed to materialise as Malvern then lost captain Bullock with a leg injury.
Tipton packed their defence and nearly caught Malvern on the break, Humphries saving well from Langford.
From a corner Marc Burrows failed to connect and Rick Halion flashed a shot across the face of the goal.
With ten minutes remaining, Olanda was sent-off after bringing down Duncan Preedy when the winger was bursting through.
Although down to ten men Tipton held on for a deserved victory and inflicted just the third league defeat of the season for Town.
