WARRIORS' head coach Anthony Eddy praised his side's work-rate after they came agonisingly close to beating Leicester Tigers.
Worcester lost 28-22 at Welford Road and, although they could have snatched it in injury-time, Eddy was upbeat.
He said: "I would like to think that, from our point of view, it did not come down to that last two or three minutes where we put pressure on them in their '22'.
"To their credit, they defended extremely well at that point and they are very hard to beat.
"We possibly had opportunities to score points earlier as well. They are a team that is going to put enormous pressure on you right throughout the field. Once you are in their '22' that pressure seems to increase ten-fold.
"We were there or thereabouts and unfortunately we weren't good enough to get that last try."
Despite missing out on inflicting Leicester's first Premiership defeat at home since January 2004, Warriors gave a good account of themselves.
Eddy said: "That was a marked improvement from our point of view on the week before against Sale, which was a pretty disappointing performance.
"We came here expecting to perform and hoping our performance was good enough to get the win.
"Unfortunately today it wasn't but at the same point we have got to be pleased with the effort we put in for 80 minutes."
After shipping 49 points ag-ainst Sale, Worcester worked hard on their defence during the week and it paid dividends at Welford Road.
Eddy added: "Last week was a bit flat from our point of view and we worked hard on it during the week.
"Our defence was much more committed, we had a lot better line press, we played at the ball pretty well. Leicester play very hard at the football and we knew we had to play with the same desire as well.
"We came here expecting to get a result. Unfortunately, the result wasn't on the scoreboard. But the result is we know we can play with the best of the teams and Leicester are obviously one of the best clubs in the competition."
