A goal from Matthew Barnes-Homer just after the hour mark settled this titanic battle on a rain sodden pitch at Taunton Town on Wednesday, October 12.
The pacey striker scored the only goal in a game where both sides went all out to win in torrential rain.
Mark Danks broke through but was denied by a fine tackle by David Peckham. Gary Fisher shot wide from the edge of the area as Taunton threatened in the eighth minute.
Tim Clarke gave Rovers a scare as e dropped a routine cross in the tenth minute but Exodus Geohaghan was on hand to clear.
In the 12th minute Danks produced an overhead kick that just went wide after a sweeping move down the left.
Jason Heath sent a 25-yard effort wide in the 13th minute as the game flowed from end to end.
Matt Johnson's cross was chested down by Barnes-Homer to Anthony Maguire, Kevin Banner met his cross with a volley that went wide in the 15th minute.
In the 23rd minute The Peacocks' keeper Scott Corderoy produced a double save - parrying Banner's half volley and then saving low to his left from the winger again.
The breakthrough was made in the 61st minute.
Dyer's through ball found Barnes-Homer, his shot at goal was rolling wide, Danks retrieved the ball and hooked back across goal and his strike partner reacted first and continued his run to prod the ball home.
