BROMSGROVE got their league campaign back on track by crushing Dunstable Town 4-0 at Creasey Park on Saturday.
Making their first apperance at Dunstable since 1978, Rovers rounded off an emphatic win with a hat-trick from Kevin Banner and a late strike from Matt Barnes-Homer.
The first half was fairly uninspiring, with both teams cancelling each other out and few chances for either side.
However, the game livened up towards the half-time break. Scott Hadland's right wing cross was met by Barnes-Homer only to see goalkeeper Paul Taylor scramble the ball away with his feet in the 40th minute.
Two minutes later Taylor pulled off a point-blank save to deny Wayne Dyer and Marc Kefford blocked the midfielder's second effort.
Rovers took the lead in the 43rd minute when Mark Danks found Anthony Maguire with a superb crossfield pass and his shot was only parried away by Taylor leaving Banner with the easiest chance to head home at the far post.
In the 51st minute Rovers were unlucky not to increase their lead. Maguire's cross was headed back across goal by Barnes-Homer and Hadland arrived late to head goalwards, only to see Taylor claw the ball away to saftey.
Rovers keeper Tim Clarke had to be alert to save an effort by Dunstable's captain Robbie Kean low to his left after 54 minutes.
The second goal arrived in the 59th minute, the Dunstable defence failed to clear their lines and Banner latched onto the loose ball to rifle home from 25 yards out giving Taylor no chance in goal.
Banner completed his hat-trick in the 66th minute when Matt Johnson and Maguire linked up down the right. Maguire slotted a through ball to Hadland and his cross was met by Banner, who thundered a shot past Taylor into the bottom right hand corner from close range.
Dyer had a chance for Rovers' fourth but lost his composure and blazed over the crossbar in the 76th minute.
Ten minutes from time Dunstable thought they had pulled a goal back when Darren Sarll fired in a free-kick which Clarke failed to hold and substitute Ian Raymond nipped in to slot home only for the assistant referee's flag to rule out the effort for offside.
Five minutes later Clarke denied Raymond again, this time diving bravely at the striker's feet to smother the shot.
Kean fired over the bar when in a good position after 87 minutes.
Rovers scored their fourth goal in the 88th minute. Hadland broke down the right and produced the perfect cross for Barnes-Homer to despatch past the hapless Taylor in goal to round off a splendid second half performance.
