Bromsgrove Rovers (0) 0 Moor Green (0) 1
ROVERS can count themselves unlucky as they slumped to their third friendly defeat at the Victoria Ground last night (July 19).
Despite their best performance of pre-season, an error by trialist right back Neil Ecclestone allowed Sean Dowdall to bag the winner in the 53rd minute.
Manager Jimmy Mullen handed Bedworth United striker Lee Greenaway and defender Andy Penny starts.
Scott Hadland saw his thumping 20-yard shot fly wide in the 11th minute.
Mark Benbow then had a header at the far post just go over in the 23rd minute.
John Daniels also had his shot palmed wide by goalkeeper James Coates, after a strong run down the right wing.
In the second half Dowdall took advantage of Ecclestone's hesitance down the right and slotted the ball past the flailing Lee Evans in goal.
Rovers pushed for an equaliser, with Aaron Blakemore's stinging volley going just wide.
Delton Francis missed an open goal in the 75th minute.
The home side kept the pressure on Moor Green, but they could not find the goal their build-up play deserved.
Striker Leon Mitchell powered down the right, but his low cross missed the late arriving Courtney Shaw.
Matt Johnson sent a swerving header, from Matt Gardiner's right wing cross, wide of Moor Green's post.
