WORCESTER Warriors chairman Cecil Duckworth has revealed plans are afoot to "transform" the facilities at Sixways.

Duckworth is delighted with the progress of the team and now wants to improve the social amenities at the club to match the level of performance on the pitch.

"We have got plans which will be unfolding in the next couple of months which are going to transform the ground" he said.

"They will give more comfort and improve the logistics."

Duckworth is staggered by the support that the club has received and now wants to reward fans by enhancing the Sixways experience.

"We want people to come inside and be warm and have a drink with their friends," he said. "It's a meeting place and we've got to improve on that and obviously we will try to improve on the field."

Another area where the club are hoping to make progress is the allocation of tickets. With demand outstripping supply for all Premiership home games, a number of supporters are missing out.

Duckworth is keen for as many fans as possible to sample the special atmosphere of match-day at Sixways.

"Obviously we are delighted about the level of support," he said. "We extended as much as we could during the summer.

"We increased the season ticket holders to 5,000. Some people thought that was ambitious but we're selling out comfortably for each game."

When tickets for the Boxing Day clash with Bath went on sale, fans began queuing at 6.30am.

While Duckworth is impressed with the enthusiasm of the supporters he hopes that, in future, tickets can be processed in a more efficient way.

This should be helped by a new online service, which should be up-and-running early in the New Year, allowing fans to order their tickets via the club's website.

"The level of support has been remarkable," he said. "We are trying to improve our facilities all the time, getting the logistics right.

"We've got big plans to substantially improve our headquarters in all those areas."
