BROMSGROVE Rovers' manager Rod Brown has praised his three new signings and admitted there could be more new additions arriving soon.
New signings Neil Davis, Paul Moore and Gavin Hurren all played their part in Bromsgrove's 2-0 win over Paulton Rovers on Saturday.
However, the new manager told the Advertiser/Messenger that he would like to bring in more players in a bid to improve Rovers' promotion hopes from the Southern League Division One West this season.
Brown said: "Neil Davis has just got back to fitness so he was a little rusty, but he struck up a very good partnership with Paul (Moore) very quickly.
"They are both experienced strikers and they brought something new to the team. They caused Paulton quite a few problems.
"Gavin was also excellent, his contribution was very good and he has settled in after a tough first match last week."
Davis, who once signed for Aston Villa from Redditch United, joined from Moor Green after nursing a knee injury for much of the season.
Moore, who was at Rovers' during the 2001/2002 season when they won promotion from the Midland Alliance, joined from Redditch United.
Brown also plans to add some more players to the quad before Saturday's trip to Hemel Hempstead on Saturday, January 21 (3pm kick off).
He said: "I am looking to add a midfielder, striker and perhaps even a defender.
"The squad was very small when I came in and it really needs to be strengthened.
"It may mean that one or two of the players we have here may have to move on, but that all depends on if I manage to bring anybody else in."
The Rovers boss also warned his side will have to be more physical if it is to have a chance of finishing in the top six this season.
The new manager suffered a nightmare home debut on Tuesday, January 10 when Marlow beat Rovers.
Brown said: "I let the players get on with the job against Marlow without too much instruction from me.
"It wasn't a great performance, but I needed to see what the team was capable of.
"There's not much to do on the football side. We play some good stuff and make a lot of chances but we don't really stand up to physical pressures.
"A lot of teams at this level like to mix it up and try and upset teams and we have to be ready for that.
"Take a player like Exodus Geohaghan. He's got the power and height to be winning everything and be more aggressive."
l Rovers face a difficult two games in league and cup competitions.
Brown's troops take on a high-flying Hemel Hempstead side, which is fourth in the Division One West. The southern side has carved out a four match unbeaten run, beating Clevedon on the way.
Rovers then have a chance of making it to the Southern League Cup quarter-finals if they defeat King's Lynn at the Victoria Ground on Tuesday, January 24 (7.45pm kick off).
Bromsgrove face a tough task against a King's Lynn side that is fourth in the Premier Division.
Brown said: "We have two completely different but hugely important games coming up over the week.
"If we stay positive then these results could give our season a lift."
