IT DIDN'T take long for Micky Brennan to climb on board Evesham United's battle for Southern League survival.
The former Common Road boss has again teamed up with Paul West to lead the fight against relegation from the Premier Divis-ion.
"Westy was on the phone to me last Wednesday morning and I didn't take a lot of persuading to accept the chance to help Evesham out of trouble," Brennan revealed.
"The club means a lot to me and if I can do my bit to help them escape then there will be no one happier."
Former boss Brennan and Paul West teamed up for just two matches prior to Dave Busst's appointment and, like then, Brennan is keen to put some points on the board.
"We deserved that today," Brennan said after Saturday's display. "I haven't seen much of Evesham this season but it's obvious that the problem lies in the number of goals that they have scored.
"I just asked the players to get forward and try to get into the box. And, that's exactly what they did this afternoon and we got our reward at the death."
Brennan is acutely aware of the task that lies ahead in the next 11 matches but, like the new manager, he is confident the Robins can survive.
"We need a win just to give us that lift-off and if we play like we have done today then it won't be far off." Brennan asserted.
West has also drafted in former Kidderminster physiotherapist Nigel Clemmett to further fill the dugout and he will do that with little difficulty!
