WORCESTER Wolves will be roared on by around 300 fans when they do battle with Sheffield Arrows in the Nat-ional Trophy final at Coventry Skydome on Sunday (2pm).

The prospect of Wolves winning the first major piece of silverware in their short history has caught the imagination of basketball fans across the county and the University of Worcester side's ticket line has been red hot.

Wolves were originally given 200 tickets, but these were snapped up so quickly a request was submitted to the league to increase the allocation. A further 100 tickets were made available and they will remain on sale up until Friday and, if any remain, they will also be sold during Saturday's home league game with Nottingham Knights.

Director of basketball Mick Donovan is advising fans who haven't already bought tickets to do so soon as he expects a high demand for the remaining ones.

He said: "I'd recommend anyone who is planning to buy tickets for the final to get them now as we cannot guarantee that there will be any left on Saturday.

"If there are a lot of supporters getting behind the team at a game, it always lifts the players' performance."

Tickets for the National Trophy final, which cost £16 for adults and £11 for children, are available by contacting Su-sie Hart on s.hart@worc.ac.uk.

Ticketholders can also watch the BBL final between Newcastle and Leicester (4.30pm).
