WORCESTER Wolves' two new Lithuanian recruits get their first run-outs for the team in a pre-season friendly tomorrow (4pm).
Valdas Urbonavicius and Paulius Augulis are both included for the warm-up game against East Kent Crusaders from England Basketball League Division Three at University College Worcester.
The pair are set to be joined on court by Colin Chiverton and Matt Collins, who have both this summer committed themselves to staying with Wolves.
However, Americans Ty Shaw and new signing Andrew Harper are not due to fly in to the country until just days before Wolves' National Trophy clash with Solent Stars on Saturday, September 17.
Director of basketball Mick Donovan said it was an opportunity for Urbonavicius and Augulis to discover what basketball in this country is all about.
He said: "It's going to give them their first taste of the style in England but I think they are raring to go out there and play and get a game under their belts."
Meanwhile, Donovan revealed Shaw has been inundated with offers from clubs in Australia following his successful spell Down Under.
Shaw proved a major hit during his time with the Cockburn Cougars, scoring a mammoth 44 points, including four out of five three-pointers and 13 rebounds, in the team's quarter-final play-off second leg victory against Perth. The Cougars eventually lost in the semi-finals to Lakeside Lightning.
Donovan is delighted Shaw, who averaged 21.38 points per game, has agreed to spend another season with Wolves but accepts he may look elsewhere next summer.
Donovan added: "He's had some tremendous offers and I would imagine after next year he would look further afield because he's got the potential to play at a much higher level and we don't kid ourselves about that."
Entry to tomorrow's match is free and season tickets will also be available.
