THE church of St James, Staunton, was filled with family and friends for the funeral of Mrs Beryl Poole, who died at Gloucester Royal Hospital at the age of 76.
Mrs Poole was brought up at Kingswinford and left school at the age of 14 and began a career as a hairdresser. She met her husband, Pete when she was visiting a cousin in Corse and they were married at Kingswinford in 1952. They then moved to Staunton and she soon became a member of the community and worked both in the village shop and continued hairdressing at her home when she made many lifelong friends. They had one son, Nigel. Beryl lost her husband in 1994, when she needed the love and support of her son and her many friends.
Cremation took place at Gloucester Crematorium and there were many beautiful floral tributes. Our sympathy is extended to Nigel and his family.
