UPTON residents may soon be able to tackle town councillors at regular Saturday surgeries in the Memorial Hall. These would be held every two month, with two or three members available to talk to people informally over coffee. Issues raised could then be brought up at a council meeting. The matter has been referred to the finance committee for consideration. Coun Chris Mair said: "It's about local democracy and making ourselves available to people to talk about the things that really concern them."
