I VERY much enjoyed the debate about being able to hear in the theatre in last week's Your Letters.
It was well argued, even handed and it almost kept dog mess off the letters page (so to speak).
The original complainer had more courage than I, but having a quiet word rarely gets results. I should think lessons were learned all round, even by Timothy West.
Being deaf, I am at an advantage as I can turn on both hearing aids in the theatre and turn them off in the diaphragm-vibratingly loud movies next door, but it would be nice to have acceptable sound levels in the first place.
