POLICE seized 20 cannabis plants being grown in an airing cupboard at flats in Malvern.
New beat sergeant Sara Goodman, who last week promised to get tough on drugs in the town, said the raid was just the beginning.
"I want people to see we're taking positive action. This is raid number one - who knows where number two will be?"
The raid was launched after police received reports that drugs were being dealt from a flat in Peterson Court, Worcester Road.
Neighbours had become suspicious of increased activity at the flats and passers-by claimed to have seen drug dealing taking place outside.
Sgt Goodman said: "It's a very respectable area and this is totally out of character. Drug dealers make people's lives a misery. We'll not let people live in fear of crime. This is the beginning of things to come."
Twelve officers were involved in the raid on Friday (March 17). A man and a woman, both in their 20s, were being questioned in relation to the incident. Growing equipment and other drug paraphernalia was seized.
